Prenatal classes

Prenatally, many parents plan on breastfeeding and they don't give it much thought.

They think that because breastfeeding is natural, and how human beings have survived forever, that breastfeeding their baby will just come easily and naturally.

And for a few mothers, that is exactly what happens.

Even if that is your experience, there are seven ways you can prepare while you are pregnant. They are worth thinking about and accomplishing, and will improve the likelihood of meeting your breastfeeding goals.

Seven Essentials Before Beginning Breastfeeding is about how to prepare for seven aspects of your life that are going to dramatically change after your baby arrives.

Feeding Your New Baby: A Prenatal Workshop

  • Breastfeed
  • Pump
  • Bottle Feed
  • Supplementing

This workshop helps you avoid a situation that many new parents find themselves in.

Some new parents are so focused on birth and baby preparations, that they decide not to learn about feeding their baby. Or, they just assume everything will flow easily because, "My body was made to breastfeed." Or "I don't want to be tied down, so I'm formula feeding."

So when their new baby needs to shift gears, they are so freaked out by one feeding method, or another, that they feel guilty and/or angry at themselves for "failing."

I prefer a relaxed approach to feeding.

If you want to breastfeed, do it, but it might be wonky and not fun for a bit. If you don't want to breastfeed, then don't, but you might change your mind when you hold your baby. If you want to exclusively pump, I salute and support and you, because it's the hardest way to feed your baby

Schedule this workshop at the end of your second trimester and complete it between 28 and 32 weeks. If you wait too long, you will not have time to do the planning you need. 10% of babies arrive early and if that's your baby, you will be prepared.

For many, nothing could be more simpler and more natural than baby crawling up mama's belly and self-attaching. Sadly, many are denied that opportunity and it leads to all kinds of challenges.

Breastfeeding is a complex skill to master. And yet, this one moment in time is the place we return to over and over again in our breastfeeding relationship.

I asked my clients, "If you could go back in time, what would you do differently? This class is reverse-engineered from thousands of clients who did not have a simple and natural beginning. These steps and actions are what they want you to know, and do!

Live class includes video, demonstrations, practice activities, and book. A lactation consultation is included after your baby arrives

My son was born with a lip and tongue time, and even after his procedure, nursing was extremely painful. I would cry and clench my fists during every feeding, staring at the timer until 20 minutes were up so I could give myself permission to unlatch my son. Feeding him was a huge burden and caused me a great deal of anxiety because of how much it hurt.

I worked with Donna during the first few months of my son's life. I went from dreading nursing, to nursing on demand thanks to her support.
